THE JOURNAL: Aims and Scopes

RiMe. Rivista dell’Istituto di Storia dell’Europa Mediterranea (ISSN: 2035-794X) is a refereed, open access journal, founded by the Istituto di Storia dell'Europa Mediterranea (ISEM) - Institute of History of Mediterranean Europe - of the italian National Research Council (CNR) which publishes empirical research, historiographic overviews and methodological focuses in the field of the History of Europe and the Mediterranean, from the Middle Ages to the Contemporaneity.

Each volume of RiMe has a different ISBN number and a DOI is assigned to each booklet and each paper of the Journal.

RiMe targets scholars from different countries, bodies and research groups in formal, non-formal and informal contexts, in order to promote and support their collaboration around common scientific interests on themes and issues related to the historical identities of Mediterranean Europe and their external projections. The Journal is multidisciplinary and brings together methodologies and critical paths in the field of Humanities and it is open especially to contributions from disciplines such as History (Medieval, Modern and Contemporary), Literature and Social Sciences. RiMe is intended as a place for reflection for an audience of specialists, and, at the same time, as a tool for disseminating the results of research in civil society.

RiMe. Rivista dell’Istituto di Storia dell’Europa Mediterranea has been recognised as Classe B  (B Level) Journal in assessment carried out by ANVUR, the agency designated by Italy's Ministry of Education and Research for evaluating research institutions and scientific output.

RiMe is published two times per year: in June and December.

 

OPEN ACCESS STATEMENT

RiMe adheres to the BOAI definition of Open Access, according to which Users have the right to "read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited."

All contents of RiMe. Rivista dell’Istituto di Storia dell’Europa Mediterranea are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.

Readers have free online access to the contents of all issues of the Journal.

SUBMISSIONS

RiMe accepts contributions on the above topics all year round. Alternatively, contributions can be sent in reply to the Journal Calls for Papers by the deadline indicated in the call.

The Call Announcements will be published on the RiMe website and the Facebook page (http://www.rime.cnr.it - https://www.facebook.com/RiMe-Rivista-dellIstituto-di-Storia-dellEuropa-Mediterranea-207652144684/). You can also receive them by registering as an author on the Journal website.

The following types of contributions are welcome:

  • Theoretical articles (about 6,500 words)
  • Research articles (about 6,500 words)
  • Conference and Book Reviews (about 6,500 words)

Contributions should be written in Italian, Catalan, French, English or Spanish. In text citations and references must strictly conform to the Harvard edition style (please see Author Guidelines in English and Italian).

 

SUBMISSIONS AND PROCESSING CHARGES

RiMe does not charge APCs or submission charges for the authors.

 

PEER REVIEW POLICY

Manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process involving two reviewers and the editor of each issue, if any.
